I bought this for one of my nieces and she loved it 😍
Anyia is the typical rebellious teen. She's young, adventurous, brave and determined to break the traditional stereo-type being forced on females in her tribe.
Although she defies orders, teens (females in particular) can make connections to her character.
I love the quality of the text and graphics. The invented vocabulary is a huge bonus for me, as I'm a firm supporter of this.
The letter to the reader at the front of the book is a welcoming touch that's sure to make any reader feel special.
The overall story line will make any reader eager to read the next book in the sequel. There are important lessons re: obedience, rules, patience and following traditions that makes this book a suitable additive to Middle Grade Curriculum. Job well done!
Wonderful story with lots of different words and lands that definitely expand your imagination and transport you to a faraway place. This is a great book for any reader advanced beyond picture books. Great stepping stone to chapter books. This book is 53 pages long with beautiful illustrations sprinkled throughout. The illustrations are clean and bright and colorful. Sure to impress young readers. There are also activities in the book such as finding your way through a maze and many labyrinths. As a wonderful bonus, there is also a step by step guide on how to draw Anyia, included. Some readers may be disappointed that Anyia doesn't get into much "warrior" action. However, this looks like it is intended as a series, so stay tuned.
This was an awesome book, beautifully illustrated as well. It is larger font with quite a few pictures so is a very quick read.
Was very adventurous
